  • Abstract
Campuses of universities and companies are examples of physical resources shared by a community, which usually interact with these resources in a very limited way because the lack of relevant and timely integrated information. The information provided by traditional campus information systems does not contribute to an effective user experience, does not recognize the users´ context or habits, does not provide personalization issues, and comes from different sources and in multiple formats. For this reason, an “active campus” concept appears as a space that learns about the community and visitors to offer them relevant services and information in proactive and pervasive forms. This paper presents a model and a technology platform to improve campus´ community well-being, allowing indoor and outdoor relevant interactions and more effective experiences. Finally, it presents the challenges faced and the key decisions made during the platform implementation.
