Abstract
This work shows the state of the art of the methods for geographical location and analysis of the scientific knowledge production. The methods described are Natural Language Processing and Named Entity Recognition; Metadata Processing; Bibliography and Citations Analysis; Scientific Collaboration Networks; and the Information Aggregators. This article presents the importance of the contribution of geolocation on the analysis of knowledge creation and transference systems at hyperlocal, local and regional levels. An application that performs each one of the methods for the analysis of the scientific production based on the geographic information in Colombia is proposed in this paper.
