  • Abstract
    In this paper, a new hybrid multi-objective PSOGSA algorithm is proposed to solve the environmental/economic dispatch problems. The basic idea of the hybrid PSOGSA is to combine the ability of exploitation in PSO with the ability of exploration in GSA. This paper extends the hybrid PSOGSA to multi-objective optimization problems. To render the PSOGSA effective in dealing with multi-objective optimization problems, some operators such as the external repository, the mutation operator, the crowding distance and the fuzzy membership function are incorporated. A case study on the IEEE 30-bus test system is presented. The proposed algorithm turns out to be effective since a better Pareto front is obtained in comparison with MOPSO.
