Abstract :
To address the impact of a high-speed internal turbine-gearbox anomalies, it is important to perform torsional vibration analysis of the gearbox. This paper illustrates a developed transfer matrix method to investigate the torsional vibration mechanisms of a gearbox equipment. An inertial reference frame is introduced into the procedure of discretizing the system and building the lumped parameters model. The natural frequencies and vibration mode shapes are obtained by resolving dynamic equations. Discussion is carried out subsequently, and experimental data are acquired to illustrate the accuracy and the applicability of the proposed method. Results show that the method is accurate and of practical significance for the torsional vibration analysis of a high-speed and “chain-linked” rotor system.
