Abstract
Before planning, designing, implementing, and analyzing of wireless communication systems, propagation environment characteristics have to be known and analyzed. A tenable channel model is the basis for wireless communication system analysis. In this paper, the results of signal strength measurement in an urban area with a hilly region are presented. Based on these measurements, a new propagation loss prediction model is proposed. The model is accurate for the UHF range and in urban areas with a hilly region where the transmitter is located.
