Abstract :
The Parking-Lines Recognition Algorithm by Freeman Chain Code proposed includes four steps: 1) transform the gray scale images into binary images, 2) using boundaries trace method obtain boundaries in the binary images and calculate Freeman Chain Code for each boundary, 3) propose a method to detect the segmentation points of Freeman Chain Code for each boundaries and divide the boundary into several segments, 4) connect collinear segments together using segments connection algorithm proposed, parameterize the segments and calculate the image coordinates of the junctions of the parking-lines. Experimental results show that the algorithm can recognize the parking-lines effectively and accurately.
