Abstract :
This paper investigates the different types of topology changes in distribution systems in initial stages. Usually, it is considered that topology of the distribution feeder is given and fixed. However, due to faults and other operational scenarios, the actual topology changes time by time. An accurate state estimation requires an accurate topology model. Here, one algorithm for detection and identification of topology changes is proposed for distribution systems by considering the limited real-time measurements and load estimation error. The performance of this algorithm is assessed on a prototype feeder for two main topology errors in distribution systems. Branch Current based SE is deployed for three-phase state estimation.
