Evaluation of the Impact on the Emotion of Young People Listening Attentively in at the Time of Using a Photograph of the Memory of the Elderly

For elderly people, a conversation has good effect in order to prevent behavioral problems. However, the caregivers are usually very busy for taking care of the patients. In order to overcome such problem, the active listening volunteers give them opportunities to talk with. However, the number of the skillful volunteers is limited. Therefore by utilizing the photograph of the memory of the elderly to provide a topic to young people and the elderly, we proposed and constructed the system that facilitates the conversation of both. This system is referred to as "memory album". When we create a "memory album", we do the work to make sure the contents of the photos with the elderly. In the previous report, we performed the analysis and evaluation for dialogue while using the "memory albums" for the active listening. However, the analysis and evaluation of the dialogue while creating them was not yet done. Therefore, in this study, we focus on the situation of the memory album creation. We analyzed the speech and facial expressions of the elderly people and young adults from the video which was videotaped. In addition, we used questionnaire to do subjective evaluation.
