Abstract :
The studied hydrostatic-driven electric generator is a compact integration of an axial piston hydrostatic motor and a permanent magnet generator, which can be applied in energy recovery and renewable energy utilization. This paper concentrates on the characteristics of the machine´s no-load pressure drop. Based on the analysis of friction and iron losses, its dynamic behavior with speed variation is modeled. An experimental platform is set up and tests are implemented so as to investigate the no-load performance of the prototype, as well as parameters in the developed model. With parameters obtained by using curve fitting, the analytical model is in accordance with measured data. The results can provide reference to prototype evaluation and controller design in further research.
