Abstract
The traffic congestion in modern cities deteriorates urban bus´ fuel economy and pollutes the atmosphere seriously, Hydraulic hybrid system becomes one of the efficient ways to improve motor´s fuel economy and reduce its pollution under the frequent starts and stops. In order to improve the power performance, a front located parallel hydraulic hybrid (FPHH) configuration is proposed. Through dynamic analysis, a FPHH bus simulation model has been built to analyze the control strategy and configuration proposed by the present study. The simulation results show that the fuel economy of the bus under UDDS working cycle calculated through interpolation algorithm is 20.75% more than that of the traditional truck crane. And an experimental bus chassis is developed which verifies the fuel saving rate to be about 15%, and the power performance of the bus has been improved apparently.
