Abstract
According to research literature, Service blueprints suffer from weaknesses that include difficulty in representing all information using only flowchart-style diagrams and ambiguous traditional notation. Accordingly, a service blueprint itself is not sufficient as a base for designing practical service, and service design processes have been proposed based on an extended service blueprint representation, e.g., employing Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN). The benefits include integrating the extended blueprint and the view models, and enabling design service activities to include both human processes and physical processes. This paper proposes a new representation with objective similar to this extended service blueprint. The proposed methodology is established using a flow-based model. Two cases of study are re-depicted in terms of the proposed model. The results suggest a viable alternative to service blueprinting.
