Abstract
A study considering both the last thirteen year surface temperature, greenhouses gases (water vapor, carbondioxide, ozone and methane) data measured by Aqua Earth-observing satellite mission and the 15 years lightning events data recorded by the Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission, suggest a positive correlation between some greenhouse gases and lightning activity in Colombia. This result is relevant to understand the factors affecting weather patterns and probably increasing annual lightning activity rate in Colombia.
