Abstract :
Nowadays changes in power generation and innovations for power supply are essential. In order to manage and operate this changes and innovations the electric grid system is developed into a Smart Grid. All data collected from energy systems will be gathered into SCADA systems (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition); all these information will be exposed with this software application. However, these Smart Grid and SCADA system have efficiency limit when it comes to the vast amount of computing resources with enormous amount of data. In order to prevent the capacity limitation all database and monitoring application can be installed under Internet base computing system or as it is often called Cloud Computing. This paper will characterize the monitoring facilities of alternative energy generations in Smart Grid under Cloud Computing framework. The design demonstration of monitoring and database application under Cloud-based system will be discussed, including Web service application with Cloud infrastructure.
