            Abstract : 
Single wavelength 56Gbps transmission in 640km dispersion-unmanaged link is successfully realized by using direct-detection discrete multi-tone (DMT) modulation method. A single polarization IQ modulator is used to do chromatic dispersion pre-compensation and generate single sideband (SSB) DMT signal. Just one PIN is used to detect the received signal to reduce the cost. More than 3000ps/nm chromatic dispersion tolerance is achieved in 320km link.
