  • Abstract
    OSNR improvement related to fiber loss and Aeff is theoretically and experimentally investigated in hybrid Raman/EDFA amplified systems. Pure-silica-core fiber with Aeff of 110μm2 is appropriate for terrestrial long-haul links, exhibiting optimal OSNR performance.
