Abstract :
This article proposes an easy build-up and fast algorithm to detect and count the number of free incoming and outgoing motorcycle parking area in a shopping mall at various complex conditions. It is a modular counting and management system composed of fixed cameras, computers and application of digital image processing technology. It provided convenient and effective management information for managers who have to serve effectively for motorcyclists at the mall motorcycle free parking zone. The managers could manage crowed moil to enable motorcyclists to find quickly alternative parking spaces and enhance consumer satisfaction. Motorcycle customers are dominant consumers group in emerging market or developing countries. The parking lot is a highly important facility in the mall, but in general malls focused on the car and less attention or even completely ignored such specific customers. The related studies were less done on this issue as well. Due to several constraints and key performance issues, however, this system has been tested in the real mall environment, and shows that it can be capable of handling well in the special commercial space.
