Abstract :
We present a study of radiation-induced prompt (RIC) and delayed (DRIC) conductivity of PVDF irradiated under a vacuum by x-rays. We also report measurements of conductivity glow curves of virgin and irradiated samples. These measurements indicate the existence of a substantial amount of deeply trapped carriers in irradiated samples. Measurements of RIC in which a sample was first irradiated in short-circuit and subsequently under an applied field show an overshoot of the current. This indicates that the contacts are blocking. Finally, current-time curves for different values of the field E are quantitatively interpreted by a model in which recombination follows a linear law.
