  • Abstract
    We analyse a simplified coherent design developed in the EU Project COCONUT for access networks and compare with standardised PON systems. A coherent ONU using dedicated wavelength at 1Gbit/s is predicted to be ~1.6 times the cost of a GPON-ONU.
