Abstract
SCTP is a new transport layer protocol mainly designed for telephonic signaling; but later it was mainly used as competitive protocols for TCP and UDP with some inimitable features such as Multi-streaming and Multi-Homing. Even though SCTP was standardized, it is not efficiently utilized for secure data transmission because of its security reasons. Hence this paper focuses on the security aspects and the features of SCTP and also analyzes the various techniques used for the secure data transmission in SCTP. We have also analyzed the security aspects of SCTP using different techniques using various parameters such as Encryption time and throughput. Moreover our techniques provide a sufficient level of security when compared to other existing methods.
