Abstract :
A 3D electromagnetic band gap structure proposed in present paper, exhibiting a property of surface wave band gap. During band gap region 3DEBG never allow neither TE nor TM surface waves. In this paper the band gap property is reveled using two techniques. The results obtained in two techniques are comparatively presented. In later section, the coefficient of mutual is determined by considering square shape microstrip patch antennas operating within band gap region are embedded with 3DEBG. An FEM based electromagnetic simulation software is used to simulate proposal. The simulated results obtained are showing better reduction in mutual coupling, is presented.
