  • Abstract
More and more power system load models consider the induction motor to enhance dynamic analysis accuracy. Initialising the power system, including induction motors, is the first step to kick off dynamic analysis. This step is usually embodied in power flow analysis. This paper presents a method of initialising the induction motor during power flow analysis. It inspects the induction motor steady state equivalent circuit and transient state equivalent circuit, and proposes a method which iterates fewer variables to initialise the induction motor. A two-bus power system containing an induction motor by Gauss-Seidel algorithm is examined to justify the proposal.
