Abstract :
In this paper, the reflection and band-stop types of self-injection locked NRD guide Gunn oscillators loading a metal rod resonator with the third-order resonance of the TEM wave, supported by the PEEK (polyetheretherketone) material, were experimentally evaluated at 60 GHz. An SSB (single-sideband) phase noise of -105 dBc/Hz was obtained in both types of oscillators at 100 kHz offset frequency. According to the experimental results, the effectiveness of the proposed self-injection locked NRD guide Gunn oscillator and the supporting manner for the metal rod resonator was demonstrated.
