Abstract :
This paper presents a wideband FMCW MIMO radar sensor capable of working in the frequency range between 120 GHz and 140 GHz. The sensor is based on a radar chipset fabricated in SiGe technology and uses a MIMO approach to improve the angular resolution. The MIMO operation is implemented by time domain multiplexing of the transmitters. The radar is capable of producing 2D images by using FFT processing and a delay-and-sum beamformer. This paper presents the overall radar system design together with the image reconstruction algorithms as well as first imaging results.
