Abstract
Factors that determine the current distribution of a loop antenna located on the surface of a cylindrical column filled with an anisotropic medium are studied. It is shown that in the case where the medium inside the column is resonant, electrostatic eigenmodes supported by such a column give a predominant contribution to the formation of the current distribution of the antenna. Analytical and numerical results illustrating the contribution of these modes to the antenna characteristics are presented.
