Abstract :
Energy crisis is the major talk all around the globe. All the nations are looking for the solution to this problem in their own capacity. One possible way of doing this is by the conservation of the fuel consumption in internal combustion engine. Moreover, it should reduce carbon emission and help in global warming. A possible improvement in the internal combustion engine is efficiency improvement that´s help in less fuel consumption which automatically reduces the emissions that are exhausted from engine. Interestingly, this should also add positive to the tight regulations of emissions by International agency for environment safety. In this paper we present techniques to increase the efficiency of the internal combustion engines, as efficiency is paramount feature of the engine. We will present a detailed mathematical model of engine and conducted a parametric study to evaluate the effect of different parameters on the efficiency. The key parameters that affect the efficiency are chamber geometry (bore, stroke, and connecting rod radius), compression ratio, heat loss through walls, turbo-charging & weight optimization. The developed technique will help the user in the efficiency optimization analysis decisions. In addition, it also reduces the time of engine testing and cost associated with it.
