Abstract
The purpose of this study is to examine how to combine broadcasting video clips with other contents offered by a third party. To this end, this paper focused on the field of education, particularly the study of "animals," and verified methods of collaboration between videos and other contents such as Wikipedia. When it comes to considering collaboration, it is well-known that metadata are absolutely necessary, however what kinds of metadata will be required? This depends on their usage or methods of combining certain resources, such as videos with other texts. In order to solve this, this paper constructed an RDF (Resource Description Framework) store to describe video clips from various viewpoints which cover themes to explain animals, motions about animals and so on. Accordingly, this paper extracted metadata commonly used to describe animals from Wikipedia and defined it as Concept Tag for the ontology to explain animals. We also analyzed which Concept Tag should be tagged in each video based on the degree of association with metadata from the ontology. In addition, we extracted RDF triples regarding the animals, which are linked to their DBpedia entries. By using this RDF store, we developed three demonstration applications that combine videos with other services.
