Abstract :
In a sampled data control system the controller only makes use of discrete time measurements. If the control law is allowed to be continuous in time, a generalized sample and hold system is obtained. For this control scheme a simple derivation of the linear quadratic optimal state feedback controller is presented. The simplicity of the solution makes it possible to get insights into the loop gain properties.
