Abstract :
In many development projects capacity training and building is a crucial factor for success or failure. The authors set out to clarify the concept of capacity by means of a number of examples and they propose a strategy for rural entrepreneurship for smallholder farmers and vocational practitioners, with capacity training in a pivotal role. The introduction, step-by-step of small-scale technology in combination with learning processes and capacity training makes it possible for small farmers and technical practitioners serving the needs of the farmers to increase production, and gradually make their enterprises grow. This step by step approach is less dependent on foreign investment or microcredit arrangements, but instead relies on capacity growth and empowerment. It provides jobs and makes rural life more attractive, giving an alternative for the increasing metropolization of the planet.
