Abstract :
This paper deals with the modeling and simulation of the traction system of the VAL subway. The traction system is ensured by two DC machines connected in series. An interleaved inverter is used in order to smooth the ripple of the armature current. A common chopper supplies the interleaved inverter and a double-chopper supplies the field windings. The model of the physical system is modeled using Bond Graph whereas the control structure is deduced from the Energetic Macroscopic Representation. Afterwards the model of the interleaved inverter is simplified in order to obtain a more practical control strategy. A simulation environment capable to combine Bond Graph and Energetic Macroscopic Representations is used to achieve relevant simulation aimed to analyze the performance of the closed-loop system.
