Abstract :
A vehicle augmented reality system provides the warning, safety and route information which are registered on the real car or road or lane at the driver´s range of vision for safety and convenience. This system helps the driver to drive safely by enhancing the perception of the driver. We have developed the vehicle augmented reality system which provides the forward situation awareness service and the lane-level navigator Service. In this paper, we describe some issues such as AR (Augmented Reality) display devices, recognition devices, determination and representation methods, experiment methods, interaction with the driver and others revealed by the development process and results o f the vehicle AR system and present considerations and what need to be overcome for developing vehicle AR system.
