Abstract :
The ternary semiconductor Cu2SnS3 is synthesized on upscaled 45 × 50 mm2 Mo substrates from an electrodeposited metallic Cu and Sn stack further annealed in an atmosphere of S and SnS. The effects of different pre-alloy treatments to the metal precursor are investigated in terms of final absorber morphology, composition and crystal structure. Finally current-voltage and spectral response measurements are made on completed solar cell devices (Mo/Cu2SnS3/CdS/i-ZnO/Al:ZnO/Ni:Al grids), with a best power conversion efficiency of 0.64%.
