Abstract :
GHG emissions and Energy Payback Time for AC electricity generated by the SunPower® Oasis® ground-mounted solar power plant were evaluated through a life cycle assessment (LCA) of a 579MWp solar plant in California. The combination of the high efficiency SunPower® solar panels and the smart Oasis ® tracking technology generates AC electricity at only 19g CO2eq/kWh AC and 0.32MJ/kWh AC over a 30 year lifetime. The high electricity generation of this plant allows for a reduced Energy Payback time in AC electricity to 9 months.
