Abstract
The double-pole induced excitation synchronous generator consists of short-circuited rotor field windings through diodes and two stator windings having different pole numbers. It is challenging to establish the dynamic mathematical model of the machine due to the complicity of the interaction among several magnetic fields. This paper presents a method of constructing the equivalent nonlinear inductance model to assist with the dynamic characteristics of the generator. The feasibility of the proposed method was validated by the good agreement among the results from the proposed analytical inductance model, the finite element analysis, and the experiment.
