Abstract :
Wearable sensing devices suitable for continuous and stable biomedical monitoring are presented. Their advantages are biocompatibility and compactness for easy wearing. One device is a T-shirt-type heart rate or electrocardiogram sensor that features a biocompatible fabric electrode called “hitoe”. Another is a wearable blood flowmeter whose main part is as small as a fingertip. Test results point to some interesting applications, such as monitoring mental or physical states.
