Abstract :
This paper proposes a novel genetic algorithm (GA) for automatic generation of LEGO brick layout. The proposed GA is designed to always generate feasible brick layout in accordance with a given 3D voxel model while the conventional GA-based approaches produce infeasible brick layout in the majority of cases. To evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed approach, computational experiments are performed. Through the experiments, it is shown that the proposed GA is more effective than the conventional GA.
