Abstract :
We present a portable forearm mirror image training device for the hemiplegic stroke patients to rehabilitate with own intension. The device consists of two units for sensing the unaffected arm motion and assisting the affected arm motion according to the unaffected motion. We designed a sensing suit utilizing IMUs and an actuating unit equipped with BLDC motors driving harmonic drive. We performed experiments to validate the range of motion of the device.
