Abstract :
Double layered printed antenna possessing air gap coupling is showcased in this paper with enhanced bandwidth for Wi-MAX and WLAN implementation. The patch antenna is popularly accepted because of its economical cost, portability, planar and compact structure and feeding process. The graphical representation of reflection coefficient with frequency lies below -10 dB from 4.05 GHz to 5.47 GHz with impedance bandwidth 1450 MHz or 29.92% that covers three bands of WLAN-4.9 GHz(4.90-4.99 GHz), 5 GHz (5.25-5.35 GHz) and(5.47-5.725 GHz), 5.2 GHz (5.15-5.35 GHz), one band of Wi-MAX-5.5 GHz (5.25-5.85 GHz) and one band of IMT- (4.4-4.9 GHz The resonance condition is achieved at a frequency of 4.35 GHz, 4.87 GHz and 5.35 GHz. The VSWR is <;1.5 for the entire frequency range. The antenna parameters of the single layer and the dual layer patch are compared. FR4 substrate(4.4) with loss tangent(0.025) is used.
