Abstract :
With the increasing demand of multimedia and real time applications the ubiquitous or wireless networks are in their revolutionary stage of research with the objective to inherit the QoS. The prime challenge with the MANETs (Mobile Ad hoc Networks) is to handle the random and a periodic mobility of nodes due to which established connections may need to reset and searched again. In this paper authors have proposed a distributive and systematic algorithm to address the flooding mechanism in routing. To reduce the control overhead of RREQ packets probability mechanism is employed. After that discovered routes are probed for the availability of QoS (Quality of Services) support in terms of Bandwidth and EED (following the sequential approach). If required maximum bandwidth and minimum delay is available over a route, then the path is selected for data transmission for an application. This algorithm is in fact a step to imbibe QoS support to AODV protocol in the form of reduced control overhead. The results of proposed algorithm (PM-AODV)are simulation based using NS-2 tool.
