Abstract :
This paper shows the experience with the use of pocket labs at CUAS (Carinthia University of Applied Sciences). Two types of pocket labs were used: National Instruments´ myDAQ and Raspberry Pi; the courses were Electronic Engineering and Circuit Design, and Image Processing. For each course, some exercises are described as example. After each course, the students were asked for their opinion about the use of pocket labs. The results shown contain answers of about 60 students, both evening and regular. In general, students appreciate the use of pocket labs due to the flexibility in time and the possibility to repeat exercises for a better understanding. There appeared a small difference between the results relating to evening and regular students; evening students, which a generally limited in time, prefer the flexible time management when using pocket labs, and regular students, which usually have less technical background, prefer the easier understanding of the content.
