Electrostatic energy: A possible source of interference

This work presents a theoretical study about the foundations of static electricity and electrostatic discharges (ESD). ESDs can damage electronic devices. The misbehavior can represent a catastrophic failure or a latent malfunction in the device. This article illustrates the waveform of the electrostatic discharges not only in living beings and furniture, but also brings up an electronic circuit capable of measuring the electrostatic energy in different occurrences.
