Abstract :
Hospital has huge amount of bedding and clothing usages and complicated processes in cleaning and disinfection, some even have special requirements in the process of cleaning and transportation such as a separate isolation to prevent pollution. Nowadays, hospital bedding and clothing inventory and classification are mainly done by manual operation, it is hard to avoid cross-contamination in the unpack process, at the same time the manual counting cost large amount of labor but has low accuracy and efficiency. To avoid secondary pollution as well as cross-contamination and improve the counting efficiency and accuracy, we can use RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) chips to identify the bedding and clothing to realize the automatic counting function during transportation. This paper describes an automatic clothing inventory and classification system dependent on a ultra-high frequency (UHF) RFID chip, which can automatically classify and count the clothes, record washing, disinfection and transportation processes and usage condition of clothes through cloud server. Besides, it can also support the remote tracking, fee settlement of clothing cleaning, and disinfection and transportation. These processes can be performed by handheld devices and special devices. It makes hospital clothing cleaning, disinfection and transportation become traceable.
