Abstract :
An electronic ballast for 130W ultraviolet (UV) lamp, which is used in sewage treatment, is designed in this paper. The topology is constituted by Boost PFC, half-bridge inverter and LCC series-parallel resonant circuit etc. Also, a reliable control method based on PIC16F690 is programmed in the designed electronic ballast. Thus, soft starting and close-loop control of lamp power and the protection of open-circuit and short-circuit can be realized accurately. What is more, the calculation method of LCC series-parallel resonant circuit parameters is proposed. The experiment results used by the UV lamp (type G162SH) can meet the theoretical analysis exactly and its efficiency is as high as 94%.
