Abstract :
The installation and configuration of cloud infrastructures in physical computer is a complex and arduous process whereas the installation of a cloud infrastructure in virtual machines exposes a significant number of performance issues. To overcome such limitations, this paper proposes an hybrid Virtual-Physical deployment for the OpenStack cloud management platform, where some of its management services have been virtualized. This innovative deployment makes the cloud architecture more extensible, opening the cloud software to a wide number of new services that could be deployed with lower complexity and time. The performance of the proposed infrastructure has been tested under stressed conditions. As a proof of concept, a new extension of the management services has been provided, allowing real time network traffic analysis within the cloud infrastructure as example of extensibility of the proposed architecture.
