Abstract :
Construction of metamaterials, based on mushroom-type band-gap structures is described. Two methods of such a metamaterial working band extension, which are based on forming an additional impedance surface in the middle of band-gap structure, are suggested. Ways of suggested methods realization are described. A numerical analysis of suggested structures, which demonstrates the band widening effect, and experimental measurements, which proves the numerical results, is made.
