Abstract :
Metamaterials are man-made artificial periodic structures composed by sub wavelength electromagnetic resonant or non-resonant structures, which can be characterized by effective medium parameters. The potential applications of such materials have attracted a great deal of interest within the scientific communities, like the negative refraction lens and invisible cloaks. In this paper, we will introduce some examples of microwave lens and low scattering surfaces based on metamaterials. We believe that these designs are good candidates to replace traditional devices in microwave and optical engineering.
