Abstract :
This paper propose an energy efficient generic pricing algorithm for dynamic spectrum management in soft real time based on an auction process with a reserve price. We introduce a novel concept called the green fund which serves as an incentive for power efficient users, while using the sealed bid auction process with a reserve price to allocate the radio spectrum to the users. The paper uses price paid by the users to regulate the user admission process. Our result shows how the green fund can serve as an incentive to users to transmit with a low transmits power in an heterogeneous network. The scheme helps power efficient users even when they are constrained by their budget. The proposed model advocates for the use of the unused spectrum while transmitting with less power to reduce power consumed during transmission. The results showed that the reserve price is beneficial to both the users and the wireless service provider (WSP). The effect of the price feedback discriminatory pricing and the green fund is also demonstrated using our results. Our result also shows that the green fund helps energy efficient users who are unfortunate to be constrained by their budget.
