  • Abstract
In this paper, a new broadband Frequency Selective Surface (FSS) electromagnetic absorber (EMA) is proposed. The absorber consists of circular metallic patches with different dimensions backed by a foam spacer and metallic ground. The patches provide different resonances resulting in improvement of the absorption characteristics of the proposed EMA. The reflection coefficient of the proposed EMA with a thickness of 3.4 mm is less than -10 dB from 8 to 12 GHz frequency spectrum. For both TE and TM-polarized waves, the reflection coefficient of the presented EMA is almost independent of the incidence angle from 0° to 30°.
