Abstract :
In the recent years, various antennas have been used for delivering the satellite data specially pictures such as Reflector, Helical, Microstrip Patch, Slot, Multi-Mode Horn (MMH) and Cross dipole antennas. In this paper, an isoflux pattern antenna with high resolution and data rate has been proposed for employing in the LEO satellites at C band which has dropping arms for attaining the best antenna performance characteristics. This small size dropping cross dipole antenna contains an appropriate -10 dB bandwidth of Su from 6.9 GHz to 7.8 GHz (approximately 0.9 GHz bandwidth with center frequency at 7.4 GHz) accompanied by VSWR<;2. The simulated gain obtained by ANSYS HFSS using the Finite Element Method (FEM) is approximately 5 dB. It should be mentioned that the primary sense of the polarization in the proximity of the center of the band is near Left Hand Circular Polarization (LHCP) and the compact occupied size (height × radial) of antenna is 40mm × 80mm.
