  • Abstract
    DC-DC converters which function as power supply are key components of the avionics. For cost and purchasing problems, some imported types of DC-DC converter wildly used in military avionics are in needs of substitution. Before substitute the imported with domestically produced DC-DC converters, the converters must be tested and evaluated to reduce risk and ensure the reliability. In this paper, a frequently-used type DC-DC converter produced by VPT Inc. and its corresponding substitute domestic type are tested and evaluated. Based on military avionics requirements, the test project includes electrical parameters test, structural analysis and environmental worthiness test. Then a method is introduced to evaluate the results based on substitution. According to the test and evaluation, the domestically produced DC-DC converters are capable of substitution.
