Abstract :
Informatization involves the intensive use of information in all areas of society and has a significant social and economic impact. In this article, we construct a set of systematic, objective, and effective informatization performance evaluation models, and utilize quantization methods to evaluate China and the world´s informatization development. We have shown the applicability of the informatization evaluating method using 88 countries as case studies. The results indicate that there remains significant variation in the extent of informatization development with China and other countries. Furthermore, we utilize correlation analysis to determine whether the informatization performance has any relations with the economic development level. This research provides Chinese informatization policy makers with the necessary data to make more informed decisions on these issues so an information society can be better developed.
